White-greyish earthy spherules of "hydrodolomite", essentially a mixture of hydromagnesite and calcite. FOV is ~20 cm.
Specimen formerly belonging to the Crida collection. This collection, consisting of 2,060 specimens, was donated in the mid-1950s to the City of Turin by the heirs of Dr. Celso Crida (1867-1950), a Piedmontese medical doctor and mineral collector, and is presently part of the Museo geo-mineralogico collections, Politecnico di Torino, Turin, cat. no. Two loose almandine crystals from Sedalia mine, located 4 miles north of Salida. This mine is well known among mineral collectors as a source for euhedral almandine garnets and their pseudomorphs. In the old public and private collections the locality for these specimens is often indicated as Salida. FOV is ~16.5 cm.
