Multiple photos available
Grand Junction, Mesa Co., Colorado, USA

Largest Crystal Size: 2 mm

Photo showing backlighting with LED light. Based on the surface appearance, which has a crazed, luminescent sheen in the crystals,(under normal dayight) this appears to be a variety of crazed carnelian, what some misnomer as "fire agate", or "Namibian fire agate" which is intense orange, crazed, agate/carnelian.. This specimen has no fire, like opal, but on the surface, appears identical to such specimens, only less orange. Tested for Ca, no effervescing whatsoever in vinegar, appears very vitreous. Found in the sidewall of a dried creek bed.

GTF-2KMPetrified Wood

Fruita, Mesa Co., Colorado, USA

Dimensions: 11 cm x 7 cm x 2 cm
Field of View: 7 cm

Appears to be fossilized wood...Not certain. Has "ghost inclusions/ impressions" from what appears to be fossils. Found on a hill by a fishing reservoir near bank of Colorado River, near Fruita, CO. Also could possibly be coffinite, based on fact it was near a uranium/ vanadium clean-up area, and that this area of Colorado has deposits of Coffinite...?
