Rowley Mine, Theba, Painted Rock Mining District, Painted Rock Mountains, Maricopa County, Arizona, USA

A very unique hoppered vanadinite crystal for the locality. Vanadinite, although plentiful in the Rowley mine, are typically found as small hexagonal crystals. Overall specimen dimensions are 2 cm x 3 cm, with the main crystal 1.5 cm x 1.5 cm. Self collected in April 2009 with Jim Ricker, Rowley mine operator, and fellow collectors Brian Beck, Ken Gagon, Gert Caymax, and Gerard Marchand. Chuck Kominski photo and collection.
