Tremolite, Diopside, Calcite
Advance Stone Quarry, Boardman's Bridge, New Milford, Litchfield County, Connecticut, USA
Tremolite pseudomorph after diopside in granular marble. These flat, short to elongated prismatic crystals are common in the Stockbridge Marble and were originally called canaanite until discredited as a new mineral. They have the same blue-white SW UV fluorescence as primary, smaller, bladed tremolite crystals found in the marble with them.
