9cm wide specimen with almandine crystals up to 5mm on muscovite, collected 2010
A small Uraninite crystal collected from the Swamp Quarry debris area in Topsham, Maine by Douglas Watts in 1995. Its original matrix was the light-tan microcline typical of the pegmatite. Of note is the 'chevron' habit of the crystal with a twinned chevron intergrown just beneath the face of the larger crystal. Like other Swamp Quarry ...
