Variety schorl from West Branch locality was the construction site for the Newark community of West Branch and is now covered by houses. Specimen is about five inches across. Photographed courtesy of University of Delaware Mineralogical Museum.
Well-formed terminated Black Schorl on matrix. Length of large crystal is 5.1 cm while smaller Schorl crystals are 2.3 cm. Overall size of specimen is 15.5 cm x 10.7 x 8.3 cm. This is the best Schorl specimen that I have seen from this site. Ex. Delaney Collection.
