Terminated crystal of vivid-pink rubellite tourmaline. Color intensity varies from pale zones to brilliant pink in the upper and lower zones. External surfaces are complete with slight edge frittering. Great color! Ex. Robert C. Linck (1905-1970). Overall size of mineral specimen: 36x24x21 mm. Size of individual crystals: 36 mm.

Very nice matrix specimen consisting of brownish lustrous smoky quartzes with cream white k-feldspar crystals, topped by striking pink "mini-mushrooms" of rubellite and some whitish albite. Width of specimen is ca 15 cm. Those pegmatite matrix specimens are hard to find in this quality. My collection, acquired in Munich 2006.

Very nice matrix specimen consisting of brownish lustrous smoky quartzes with cream white k-feldspar crystals, topped by striking pink "mini-mushrooms" of rubellite and some whitish albite. Width of specimen is ca 15 cm. Those pegmatite matrix specimens are hard to find in this quality. My collection, acquired in Munich 2006.

Elbaite polycrystalline growths with a shape well known as “mushroom”, with a very deep and uniform red color and on Calcite matrix.

This is a very good example of the so-called "mushroom" tourmalines from late 1990s finds in Momeik. Herb Obodda had this piece tucked away when I obtained his collection, and it has a great balance to it in form.
