Active from 1635 to 1659, when it was destroyed by Norwegian troops.
Mining was then relocated to Silpaktjåkkå and Alkavare in Jokkmokk.
Another mining effort 1770-1810.
Due to the difficult conditions up in the mountains above the tree limit it was never successful. The first period produced 861 kg silver and 225 tons of lead and the second 140 kg silver and 55 tons of lead.
The sulphide ore occurred in quartz veins cutting graphite-rich schists. Pb, Zn and Ag deposit. The ore is of hydrothermal origin in a quartz gangue. The locality has been mined for silver and lead in three different periods. All started with a great deal of enthusiasm and ended with bankrupcy.
The locality is located almost at the polar circle at an altitude of 1000 m above sea level. Almost all of the described minerals can still be found on the mine dumps.
