Ref.: Topo. & Geol. Sur. of Penna, Rpt #4, The Mineral Pigments of Penna:44. Located on the South slope of Quaker Hill, about 2½ miles North of Bethlehem. A pigment mine (umber) comprised of shallow pits with the deepest at 48 feet. Started at or before 1886.
