A gold mine operated 1939-2003 exploiting the same deposit as the adjacent Negus Mine, which was operated from 1939-1952. The mines were later interconnected. The minerals described by Ridland (1941) are identical for the two mines. Many of the rare species were confirmed in the 1950s by Colman by XRD.
