A former Mn occurrence/mine located in the NW¼NE¼ sec. 18, T11N, R13W, G&SRM, 12 miles SW of Signal, on Bureau of Land Management administered land. Owned by T.J.Rogers, Arizona (1958). Owned by J.M. Neal, Arizona (1958). Operated during the period 1953-1954. The USGS MRDS database stated accuracy for this locality is 100 meters. NOTE: USBM IC 7843 contains conflicting location information: map = NW¼NE¼ sec. 18, T11N, R13W; page 52 = SW¼ sec. 17, T11N, R13W.

Mineralization is a Mn deposit hosted in the Pliocene Chapin Wash sandstone. The ore body strikes NW and dips SW at a thickness of 3.66 meters. Bedded ore bodies occur with enrichment that occurs near areas of mineralized fracture zones containing supergene Mn oxides. Local rocks include Middle Miocene to Oligocene sedimentary rocks.

Workings include surface openings with an overall length 45.72 meters and an overall width of 3.05 meters and comprised of open cut workings up to 15 feet deep.

Production statistics: Year: 1954 (period = 1953-1954): ore (estimate): ^15 weight percent Mn.
