Information was found for the location as a gold deposit. The existing copper specie listed may relate to a nearby prospect.

Located approximately 10 kilometres north-west of Nannine. The first reports found were 1931 where the location is held by prospector McLean (surname) on behalf of an Adelaide syndicate. Gold floaters had been picked up by aboriginals, and McLean was sent by the syndicate to investigate and he found gold in an outcrop nearby.

R.E. Reinholdtsen, manager of the Nannine Gold Mines Ltd, provides a fairly detailed description of the deposit in 1935. He states the lode strikes east-west and dips north. A 50 foot shaft had been sunk on the hanging wall side. They had crosscut 12 feet. Here was a quartz reef 1 to 6 feet wide carrying most of the gold. A second shaft to 40 feet was sunk on the footwall side, with 40 feet of drives, and only traces of gold has been found. They were having much trouble keeping both shafts free of water. Overall he states there are irregular values in the lode. Some minor crushing of ore took place.

After this it appears the site was left to the occasional prospector, and is unlikely to be much more than a collection of shafts in the scrub. As a side note, middle aged Reinholdtsen was charged and brought to court shortly after for having sex with a 14 year girl. She was the daughter of one of his mine employees, and the affair resulted in a child.
