Part of the historic Panbula goldfields.
This mine was part of the gold field covering the parishes of Panbula, Gnupa and Yowaka. (Note the spelling of Panbula - not to be confused with Pambula).
The mine was worked 1889 to 1899, via shafts. drives, crosscuts and small open cut.
