Nos. 249-250 (Sep-Oct 1921), Magnetic Iron Deposits of SE NY, Clarke, John M.: Index Map, 44 & 99-105 A very old iron mine started about 1756 and closed before 1932. Located about 5 miles (8 km) West of Fort Montgomery. One of the Forest of Dean group of mines. Owned by the Forest of Dean Iron Ore co., Hudson Iron Co. & the Fort Montgomery Iron Corp., in that order. Total output is estimated at not less than 2,000,000 tons of ore. Workings were 3,300 feet deep along the pitch.
