Poços de Caldas complex is one of the largest intrusions of the world (some 800 km²) and extends into the states of São Paulo and Minas Gerais. It is a circular structure resembling a collapsed caldera approx. 30 km in diameter. The alkaline complex mainly consists of tinguaite/phonolite, and nepheline syenites, sodalite syenites and various volcanics.
Contains one of the world's largest baddeleyite deposits, bauxite and uranium mining (now abandoned).

Poços de Caldas is also the name of a city (head of Poços de Caldas municipality) located in the region.
