Rodingite dykes and lenses in ophiolitic rocks.

The two classic rodingite occurrences are situated, respectively, at the top and at the bottom of the precipice, that borders to the north the meadowy plateau of Pian Saulera and overhangs Pian della Mussa, about 800 m NNW of the buildings of Alpe Saulera (Strüver, 1900 and 1901; Repossi, 1919).

Crystallographic studies on minerals of this locality were performed for epidote (La Valle, 1890) and diopside (Zambonini, 1909).

Furthermore, an occurrence of magnetite in serpentinite is known in the vicinity of the buildings of Alpe Saulera and some small rodingite lenses have been found towards the east of the same.
