Zerak Fe deposit, Hisa-i-Awali Bihsud District, Vardak Province (Warkak Province; Wardak Province; Wardag Province; Wardagh Province; Maydan Province), Afghanistan

Metasedimentary iron deposit, consisting of three ore bodies, 90-450 m long and 12-75 m thick, which are hosted in a fault zone between Proterozoic greenstones and Early Carboniferous slate and silicified dolomite. The deposit has speculative reserves of 20 million tons of ore grading at 62.5% Fe.
