Ancient copper mine with various adits.
First mentioned in 1426 (but probably mined as early as the 12th century), closed in 1883, reopened in 1957 and finally abandoned in 1971.
There are also indications that mining already was done in the Bronze Age.

Low-grade chalcopyrite mineralisation (diffused impregnations) in prasinites and chlorite schists; also as thin ore veins and cleft fillings.

Now in part a tourist mine. Several tons of copper are also still produced today by electrochemical cementation.
A mining trail ('Prettauer Knappensteig') can be walked.
