An iron mine opened in 1912 by the Michigan Mining Co. and closed shortly after with no recored production. The works consisted of one shaft and one level at 170 ft. depth. The property description is NE-SW Sec. 36 T43N-R35W, which is the 40 acres between N46º4'35", N46º4'48", W88º37'37", and W88º37'56".
