Uraninite presumed to be the source of radioactivity in a hematite stained fracture in granite exposed approximately 100 meters north of the bridge at Big Eric's Crossing. Pyrite microbiota taking the form of strongly curvate pyritic chains and filaments averaging ~6 ΞΌ have been found in basal Michigamme beds within thin phosphatic layers.
