An Fe occurrence/mine in magnetite ore located near Mountain Pond, 1Β½ miles (2 km) North of Drakesville. Started 1874, reopened 1879-1881. Operated by Francis M. Gove. Owned by Mt. Arlington Borough, Arlington, New Jersey. The USGS MRDS database accuracy for this locality is not stated.

Mineralization is a magnetite deposit hosted in Neoproterozoic gneiss. The ore body was 7 feet (2.13 meters) wide. The ore contained pyrite in streaks and thick (>3 inches [7.5 cm]) quartz vein(s). Local rocks include clinopyroxene-quartz-feldspar Gneiss.

Workings include underground openings comprised of 2 shafts to 400 feet (120 meters) deep. Several tailings piles are still present; however, there aren't any open shafts or pits present any longer.

Production was 11,200 tons by June, 1880.
