Arrowhead Mine, Leatherhead Mine
Avatar Crystal Mine (formerly known as Arrowhead Crystal Mine) is a recreational fee site for digging famous Arkansas Quartz Crystal.
Note: for a brief time in the late 1990s/early 2000s, the Arrowhead Mine was mistakenly known as the Leatherhead Mine. However, this is not to be confused with the Leatherhead Quartz Mines 18 miles to the east as these are two distinctly different mining operations.
In addition, the USGS MRDS database lists this locality as the Leatherhead Mine as well, but this is also incorrect.
