Ref.: The Iron Mines of New Jersey (1910), Bayley: 375; NJ State Geol. Annual Rpts.: (1879): 60; (1885): 103; (1886): 146. An iron mine in magnetite ore located on the East side of Copperas Mtn. Started about 1877 and reopened 1885-1886. 2 ore vein, one ore vein was 5 feet wide in the open cut. Workings included 5 test pits and a shaft of at least 75 feet in depth (1886), 3 slopes, an open cut (40 feet deep) and a tunnel.
