Description: see: http://www.mindat.org/forum.php?read,6,206759,206786 Note that most such specimens from this locality turn out to be eosphorite on analysis, although Fe-dominant samples are known, so analysis is required for accurate attribution. Analyst Joan Viñals comments on a disputed Fe-rich analysis as follows: "The samples in question were clearly members of the childrenite-eosphorite series (see XRD), but with predominance of “childrenite” because, semiquantitatively, it was clear that Fe>Mn. If you see the EDS spectra, you can recognize the X-ray peaks in order of increasing energy (or atomic number) from left to right. The first peak was Al (Kα plus a small Kβ completely overlapped). Then P (Kα plus a small Kβ partially overlapped). Then Ca Kα and a small Ca Kβ well resolved. Then Mn Kα . Then Fe Kα plus a small Mn Kβ overlapped and finally Fe Kβ. According this and comparing the Fe Kα and Mn Kα peaks it can semiquantitatively conclude that Fe>Mn. Probably, the confusion was in the labels of the peaks in the printed spectrum. It appears Mn as an apparent label of the Fe Kα. However, note that the true peak label is always some at the left of the peaks."
