Ancient and old iron ore prospects at Valle Santa Caterina, to the north of Colle delle Fierle and to the south Monte Spinosa.

Prospecting for tin and other metals, carried out in the 1980s, has shown the presence of small Sn-W-As mineralisations in the carbonate rocks of the Tuscan nappe.
