A cyprine-thulite deposit near Kleppan. The minerals occur in quartz lenses and veins in quartz porphyry and amphibolite. The zoisite variety thulite was first described from this locality. The name "Cyprin" was introduced in 1820 by Jöns Jakob Berzelius for a blue, Cu-bearing variety of vesuvianite from Kleppan, Sauland, Norway. The present-day "cyprine" (approved in 2015) is defined as having a Cu-dominant site in its crystal structure (Panikorovskii et al., 2017).

'Grossular-Hibschite Series' ?
Description: Analyses done by Neumann & Svinndal give this result; 93,2mol% grossular, 4,0mol% tri-calcium-aluminiumhexahydrate, 1,9mol% spessartine, 0,7mol% pyrope and 0,2mol% almandine. XRD and SEM analysis of similar material done at NHM, Oslo gave grossular (Selbekk 2010). New studies are needed.
