Around the Tunaberg church there are several mines and ore fields. In the centre, just N, W and SW of the church, is the famous Tunaberg Cu-Co ore field.http://www.mindat.org/loc-5796.html.
Further W and SW& S there are some iron mines.
Kärrgruvan Ore Field http://www.mindat.org/loc-220851.html, is situated about 2,5 km W of the church.
Dammgruvan Ore Field http://www.mindat.org/loc-14389.html, is located about 3 km SSE of the church.
Skeppsviksgruvorna and Nygransgruvan further west close to Nävekvarn.

Of bigger interest are the so-called "eulysitic" iron ores in Stora Utterviks- and Strömhultsgruvorna (http://www.mindat.org/loc-21857.html).
