Description: Early in the 1950's Excellent crystals were being collected in amphibolite gneiss at this location. crystals ranging from minute needles to stout prismatic crystals six inches long to one inch across. In 1960, the first accurate identification of Clinozoisite in PA was made by D. M. Lapham, PA. Geo. Survey, using specimens from this site.

Description: See also planerite entry for this locality. This material is cuprian planerite or "half-empty" turquoise. Published analysis indicates that the vacany in the 'A' site is between 0.51-0.54 atom fraction, the balance in Cu-0.40 and Zn-0.06 to 0.09, so this is indeed planerite.

Description: Was originally reported to be coeruleolactite. Cuprian planerite or "half-empty" turquoise. Published analysis indicates that the vacany in the 'A' site is between 0.51-0.54 atom fraction, the balance in Cu-0.40 and Zn-0.06 to 0.09, so this is indeed planerite.
