Locality type:
The western edge of Bass Strait extends from the southern coastal border of Victoria near Cape Otway extending south to the western edge of King Island and to Cape Grim on the northern coastal border of Tasmania.
The eastern edge of Bass Strait extends from Cape Howe on the south western coast of Victoria, past Gabo Island to the northeast point of East Sister Island, and then along the 148th meridian to Flinders Island and to a line running to the Eastward of the Vansittart Shoals to Cape Barren Island and to Eddystone Point on the north eastern coast of Tasmania.
