Note: most pale greenish and bright orange gypsum attributed to Whyalla (or Iron Knob) is from the Pernatty Lagoon, Mt Gunson, Stuart Shelf area, Andamooka Ranges - Lake Torrens area, South Australia, Australia.


Note: The co-ordinates given are for Hummocky Hill, on the eastern side of the Whyalla township. This is the end point for the railway from the Middleback ranges iron mines (Iron knob, Iron Monarch etc.) and the original name of the township.
