Riebeckite schists are typical of the Saint-Veran area and crop out at various sites, such as at the Les Clausis copper mine, to the south of the copper mine up to the left side of Aigue Blanche brook, and at the foot of Tête de Longet, above Clausis chapel.

"Via Guillestre and the D902 until Château-Ville-Vieille. Take the D5 south. This is the highest altitude community in Europe. It has a gem cutting workshop and old copper mines." [Belot, 1978]
