Formerly: Maxwell quarry, Wakefield area, Hull Township, Gatineau Co., Québec, Canada

A quarry in brucitic marble (crystalline limestone) enclosed in syenite. Discovered in 1938 and operated from 1942 until 1968. The quarry was worked by the Aluminum Company of Canada (Alcan) for the recovery of brucite which was used for the production of magnesium metal. Alcan also operated another brucitic marble quarry in the same area, the Stephen Cross quarry.
