Markhamville is about 16 km (10 miles) south of Sussex, Kings County, in southeastern New Brunswick. Remnants of former workings can be reached by Highway 111 from Sussex to Jeffries Corner, 1.5 km (0.9 miles) east on Lisson Settlement Road, 1.15 km (0.7 miles) south to Markhamville and about 600 m (1967 ft) east to the former mined area.
Manganese deposits at Markhamville are interstratified with the Gays River Formation limestones of the Windsor Group.
