A surface mine, opened in 2005, for mining an estimate of 30.000 ounces of Au-reserves. This mine is located about 7 km NW of the mined-out Bleida copper deposit (Bleida mine).

Sulphide-free Au-Pd mineralization, occurring in a volcano-sedimentary sequence in altered amphibolites and chlorite schists of the Neoproterozoic Bou Azzer-El Graara inlier. Drilling also revealed a copper sulphide mineralization at greater depth.
