Ameroo Hill, Olary Province, South Australia, Australia

Corundum occurs 1 km south of Ameroo Hill were recorded by Campana and King (1958). Here the corundum occurs as blue-grey, crude barrel-shaped, non gem-quality prisms coated in pyrophyllite. They occur as porphyroblasts in gneisses and schists.

Note: There is also an Amaroo locality in the Northern Territory and should not be confused with the localities here.
