Dixonville-Tanoma Kimberlite, Tanoma Coal Mine, Dixonville, Indiana Co., Pennsylvania, USA

Sub-parallel kimberlite dikes occurring in a narrow east-west trending zone at least 3 km long and 15 cm wide. Dikes were found underground in the Tanoma Coal Mine and possibly in the nearby Barr Slope Mine. No known surface expression of the kimberlite has been found. The Dixonville-Tanoma Kimberlite is Upper Middle Jurassic (185mya) and is not diamondiferous.
