Ancient lead mines dating back to the 15th century; 12 dumps are recognisable nowadays (Auer, 2020).
The mines are located 1.5 km SE of Steinhaus am Semmering, at altitudes between 1050 and 1100 m in the upper Hasen valley.
Main mining activities were in the 16th century by a Mr. Hofkircher. This mine was last mentioned in 1804.
An adit was temporarily accessible in the 1980s.
Located south of Steinhaus am Semmering, on the north-eastern slope of the Arzberg (western slope of the Fröschitz valley).
Not to be confused with the Arzberg locality near Weiz.
