Syenite Pluton immediately northwest of Newfield village. Probably mapped by Gilman (1978) on the north or northeast margin of a syenite on Straw Hill 1 km north west of Newfield village along the western side of Elm Street. Sillimanite in the Rindgemere Formation. Locality marker is approximate as the syenite outcrops over the entire Straw Hill. Sunstone, sodalite, and pyrophanite were found at a home construction site about 1955.
