Outcrops of low temperature eclogite facies metamorphic rocks, included in greenschists facies metamorphic tremolite marble with interlayered chlorite muscovite schist. Within the outcrop area, four types of eclogites were recognized: (1) glaucophane eclogites, (2) paragonite eclogites, (3) epidote eclogites, and (4) glaucophane-garnet amphibolites (retrograde eclogites). Blueschists can be subdivided into three groups: (1) glaucophane-bearing garnet-muscovite-albite schists, (2) garnet-muscovite-glaucophane schists, and (3) garnet-muscovite-glaucophane-quartz schists.

The eclogite facies metamorphism underwent four stages of evolution: (1) pre-peak lawsonite-blueschist facies stage; (2) peak eclogite facies stage; (3) retrograde epidote-blueschist facies stage; and (4) retrograde blueschist-greenschist facies stage.
