Mineralized fault zone in Keweenawan conglomerates and amygdaloidal basalts.
First developed in 1882 by the Lake Superior Native Copper Company. The site at the time had upwards of 30 buildings on it. As of 2008 there was only one broken down stone foundation left and a large rock dump on the shore. The mineralized fault zone is still exposed on the shoreline and contains trace amounts of the ore minerals; disseminated native copper, chalcocite and malachite. All shafts were capped sometime around 1995.
