A copper mine, working an ENE-trending lode from several shafts over a distance of about 900 yards. The line of shaft dumps crosses a small valley south of Stencoose farm. According to A.K. Hamilton Jenkin, the workings on the east side of the valley were once known as North Hallenbeagle Mine. In 1838, the mine produced 135 tons of 7% copper ore. After the discovery of tin ore in 1872, is was restarted under the name North Treleigh Wood Mine.
