Located within Noatak National Preserve
Location: Located along Natmotirak Creek in T. 26 N., R. 1 W., Kateel River Meridian. Shown as locality 3 in Mayfield and Grybeck (1978) and is accurate to within 2000 ft. (600 m).
Geology: Visible chalcopyrite and malachite in less than 3 ft. (1 m) wide quartz vein cutting limestone (Mayfield and Grybeck, 1978). Occurrence could be similar to several other sediment-hosted occurrences in the Brooks Range that formed from the dewatering of a large sedimentary basin (Schmidt, 1997, p. 35-65; Schmidt and Werdon, 1993, p. 143).
Workings: 10 ppm Ag in one rock sample (Mayfield and Grybeck, 1978).
