Claims were staked on the occurrence in 1954 by Uraluck Exploration (Hoekzema and Sherman, 1983). The U.S. Bureau of Mines did not visit this occurrence.
Location: This occurrence is located in section 2, T. 6 N., R. 2 E., of the Seward Meridian. It is situated along the Placer River near its confluence with Bartlett Glacier. This location is accurate to within one mile. This is location 37 of Tysdal (1978 [MF-880-A]) and location S-269 of Jansons and others (1984).
Geology: Bedrock in the area is mapped as sedimentary strata of the Valdez Group of Late Cretaceous age (Nelson and others, 1985). According to the U.S. Bureau of Mines claim records, this site was staked in 1954 for uranium. No other information about it has been made public.
Workings: Claims for uranium were staked in 1954 (Hoekzema and Sherman, 1983). No workings are reported.
Age: Cretaceous or younger; the bedrock in the area is the Valdez Group of Late Cretaceosu age.
