Unnamed Occurrence (ARDF - CH054; in upper Geroe Creek), Chandalar District, Yukon-Koyukuk Borough, Alaska, USA

Location: This site is at an elevation of about 4,200 feet on the west side of upper Geroe Creek approximately 16 miles north-northwest of Chandalar (site) and 15 miles west-northwest of the west end of Squaw Lake (sec. 6, T. 33 N., R. 5 W., of the Fairbanks Meridian). This site corresponds to unnamed loc. 86 in DeYoung (1978). The location is accurate within a 1-mile radius.
Geology: Limited information described this occurrence only as sphalerite in a boxwork of veinlets found in float (DeYoung, 1978). The area is is mapped as peraluminous biotite-muscovite granite of the Baby Creek batholith. It is a few miles northeast of the Geroe Creek porphyry Cu-Mo property (CH053) and adjoins an unidentified large claim block (U.S. Bureau of Mines, 1973) that is immediately northeast of the Geroe Creek prospect. There is no other information available on this prospect.
