Unnamed Occurrence (ARDF - ID099; north of Reindeer River), Iditarod District, Yukon-Koyukuk Borough, Alaska, USA

Geology: This occurrence consists of hematite veinlets in a dacite flow of the Upper Cretaceous or early Tertiary, Yetna River volcanic field (Miller and Bundtzen, 1994; Bundtzen and Miller, 1997; Miller, Bundtzen, and Gray, 2005). The size and orientation of the occurrence are uncertain. One grab sample of mineralization contained 50 parts per billion (ppb) gold and 18 parts per million (ppm) antimony (McGimsey and others, 1988).
Workings: Samples were collected by the U.S. Geological Survey and Alaska Division of Geological and Geophysical Surveys in the 1980s (McGimsey and others, 1988).
Alteration: Deposition of hematite and silicification.
