The locality is in the Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park and Preserve.
Location: This occurrence is on the ridge north of upper Slatka Creek. It is at an elevation of about 6,200 feet, 2,400 feet south of the center of section 17, T. 3 S., R. 10 E. of the Copper River Meridian. This is locality 125 of MacKevett (1976); the location is accurate to within about 1,000 feet.
Geology: This occurrence consists of patchy altered zones that are locally present in Triassic Nikolai Greenstone (MacKevett, 1976). A sample of the altered material contained 700 parts per million (ppm) copper and 500 ppm zinc.
Workings: Only limited surface sampling.
Age: Triassic or younger based on the age of the host rocks.
Alteration: The type of alteration was not specified.
