Geology: These prospects explore a silver-basemetal volcanogenic massive sulfide deposit in a sequence of low to medium grade metamorphosed basaltic and rhyolitic rocks, submarine ash flow tuffs, and pelitic and carbonaceous sedimentary rocks known as the Ambler schist belt. The deposit is a Devonian or Mississippian in age, based on fossil evidence and U-Pb radiometric dating in the region (Hitzman and others, 1986). Rocks are commonly iron stained in the area. The deposit has been explored by numerous prospect pits and surface mapping.
Workings: Numerous prospect pits and surface mapping.
Age: Syngenetic massive sulfide in Devonian or Mississippian host rocks.
Alteration: Rocks in area commonly are iron stained.
Commodities (Major) - Ag, Cu, Pb, Zn
Development Status: None
Deposit Model: Kuroko massive sulfide (Cox and Singer, 1986; model 28a)
