Massive sulphide deposit in the Iberian Pyrite Belt.

Salgadinho stockwork deposit, first discovered and explored by the Portuguese Government exploration department SFM between 1973 and 1979.

Tipos: ocorrências de Cobre - ligadas a vulcanismo - stockworks.
Ocorrências de Ouro - disseminadas e filonianas ligadas a distintas formações vulcano-sedimentares.
Génese: singenética, vulcanogénica. Paragénese Cu-Zn-Au-Ag.
Descrição geológica: disseminações sulfurosas e vénulas de quartzo dispostas em stockwork no seio de tufos ácidos.
Geologia local: Flanco nordeste do anticlinório de Cercal-Odemira, Complexo Vulcano-Silicioso do Cercal, principalmente a Formação de São Luís (xistos, tufitos).
Geologia regional: Devónico superior-Carbonífero inferior.
