Vaux-sous-Olne is a hamlet of both Olne and Trooz. This hamlet is subdivided into Grand-Vau (closer to Olne) and Petit-Vau (closer to Nessonvaux, a section of Trooz), which explains the plural of Vaux-sous-Olne.

There is an old lead-zinc-calamine mine.
