Estrie is an administrative region of Québec covering 10,508 km², also known in English as the Eastern Townships and in French Cantons-de-l'Est.
Cantons-de-l'Est is still in use and covers the same area as Estrie, but it is now the name for a Région touristique (Tourist Region). It is a bit confusing even for the residents.

Estrie, a French neologism, was coined as a derivative of est, "east".

The region originally consisted of 6 regional county municipalities. In 2021, La Haute-Yamaska & Brome-Missisquoi joined Estrie, transferring from Montérégie.
